Welcome to the world of Irish Dancing! The Reed School of Irish Dance exists to bring students the classical beauty of the dance combined with innovative, contemporary style. Dancers who choose the Reed School of Irish Dance will find a teacher with a young, exuberant attitude who believes in small classes and personal attention to each and every student.

Zanthia Reed opened the Reed School of Irish Dance in 1998 and has since centered her classes around the love of the dance and the chance to bring her students the high self-esteem, fast friendships and success that comes with Irish Dancing.

Zanthia is a certified teacher registered with the Irish Dancing Commission in Dublin. She is also a member of the Western Region Irish Dance Teachers' Association of North America. Zanthia took her first jig steps at age eight and has, in her 19 years as a dancer, competed at local, regional, and national levels. In 1990, she danced in the World Championships in Galway, Ireland, after qualifying at the national level.

The Chance to Shine…

Students have the enlightening opportunity to perform their Irish Dancing skills at St Patrick's day and throughout the year. Because of the high caliber of shows we do, students are expected to attend all classes and all extra rehearsals held in conjunction with performances. (However, students will never be required to miss school for performances.)

Students also get excited when it's Feis time. Feis (pronounced fesh) is the Gaelic word for competition, the chance for dancers to compete against others of their age and ability. All dancers are strongly encouraged to participate in competitions held in Colorado. Students from across the state and beyond meet for the feiseanna held throughout the year. Some families may also choose to travel to hundreds of competitions held throughout the United States every year.
